SAN FRANCISCO — The stage was big. The pressure was real. And Angel Reese delivered one of the most impressive performances in WNBA Finals history.

Reese powered the Atlanta Dream to a 79–65 victory over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 of the 2026 WNBA Finals, finishing with 30 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.

After dropping Game 1, Atlanta needed a response. Reese made sure the Dream got one.

A DOMINANT PERFORMANCE ON THE BIGGEST STAGE

Reese converted 10 of her 16 field-goal attempts while controlling the glass and creating second-chance opportunities. This wasn't simply another double-double. It was a complete performance built on physicality, efficiency and determination.

With her 30-point, 16-rebound effort, Reese joined Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones as the only players to reach at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a WNBA Finals game.

ATLANTA RESPONDS AS A TEAM

Allisha Gray scored 18 points, Jordin Canada added 13 points and 10 assists, and Rhyne Howard established a WNBA Finals record with six steals.

Atlanta's defense changed the game after halftime. The Dream outscored Golden State 21–9 in the third quarter, turning a narrow halftime advantage into a commanding lead. The result was Atlanta's first WNBA Finals victory in franchise history.

FROM BALTIMORE ROOTS TO FINALS HISTORY

Before the national attention, professional accolades and championship spotlight, Reese was developing her game at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.

Her ability to compete through contact, battle for rebounds and embrace physical basketball was on full display Monday night. The player who once represented St. Frances on the high school stage is now making history on one of the biggest stages in women's basketball.

THE SERIES IS JUST GETTING STARTED

The Dream and Valkyries are now tied 1–1, with Game 3 shifting to Atlanta on Wednesday. Golden State still has plenty of fight left, but Atlanta leaves San Francisco with momentum and renewed confidence.

Thirty points. Sixteen rebounds. A Finals victory. Angel Reese didn't just show up for Game 2. She took control of it.
